I recommended to Ellie one of my favorite old study spots, the desks along the western-facing windows in the stacks on the upper floors of Young library. When the sun sets over the dorms to the west, it's a million-dollar view. I have fond memories of quiet, lazy afternoons reading there, free from any distractions beyond the anxiety-ridden graffiti of other students.
Today, after driving Ellie back to the dorms, I decided to wait out traffic and, instead, return to the stacks to finish my day's work and savor the same scrawled graffiti as was there 40 years ago.
