We had the Costa Blanco all to ourselves

We were prepared to brave the crowds at Spanish
beaches to experience our first swim in the Meditteranean.
But it wasn't necessary: a Chernobyl-like ghostliness
greeted us, the residue of the popped housing bubble
along the Spanish coast, where towers of condos
sat nearly empty. A broad playa yawned at us, and
we did have fun playing in the warm, blue, salty water.
