The Elephant Seals on Highway 1

These elephant seals were clearly exhausted. What had worn them out? We never discovered it. But we had fun noticing that one kept raising his flipper, as if he had a question, only to lower it slowly when no one bothered to recognize him. Again and again.
After that, I tried to enjoy the drive up Highway 1 through Big Sur as much as I possibly could -- especially since I got the distinct sense from Jen & Emily that they never wanted to drive it again.
