A little glorification of William Randolph Hearst is, I guess,
justified by the guides who lead you through this unmatched collection of
priceless treasures. Marion Davies is politely referred to as his "sweetheart"
and no one mentions Citizen Kane.
Certainly there was no discussion
of his egging on the Spanish-American War to sell newspapers.
All in all, a flattering picture that left Ellie re-evaluating
things I must have said at one point. Walking out of the IMAX
biopic, triumphant music in our ears, she asked, "I thought you
said he was a really bad guy!"
