Whale Watching in Comfort
Spinnaker Lounge
Norwegian Pearl
Glacier Bay Park, Alaska

As the Pearl steamed south from Glacier Bay, we settled into
these comfy seats at the front of the Spinnaker Lounge, where
we had also taken part in a range of corny cruise fun, including
Broadway-dance lessons and Progressive Trivia challenge (we came
in about 5th, but won the Spirit Award by bringing our own confetti
to the final round!).
From our cozy perch, we saw some whale tails, a few spouts,
and some humps as they made
their way through the same passage. As whale watching platforms go, it's a little far from the
action and high off the surface. But it strikes a 10 on the
comfort level.
Our closest encounter with the wildlife of the Pacific Northwest, however, was days
ahead of us, and in a place where we didn't expect to find it...
