If anything traumatized the girls during our trip to Thailand, I doubt it was the airport seige, or the news of grenade explosions and gun fights in the street, or even the legless beggars on the broken sidewalks, but rather this vivid and well-tended shrine in a back corner of the Swissotel's yard.
