And so, we left them there on the mountain, our old friends and some new ones, too, waving like kooks.
Our cogwheel train rolled down the mountain, out of the sunshine and down into the fog below. We caught the ferry at Viznau and steamed across the lake, back to Lucerne. Our tickets to Zermatt took us across across Switzerland and back up out of the clouds into the sunshine again.
In Zermatt, we walked out into a storybook Alpine tourist village, dropped our bags in our hotel room, and made our way out to find pizza and beer.
