After our glorious and historically significant New England Roadtrip and Weekend on Broadway, we flew back to California and settled in for Ellie's junior year.
A couple of hurricanes rolling up from Baja delivered pounding waves -- and piles of seaweed -- to our shores. Seal Beach closed its pier one day, in case those waves decided to take out a few supports. (It survived in tact.)
We made time to visit LACMA and catch its Van Gogh to Kandinsky exhibit in its final days. Miles and Ellie rode along and shopped at the Grove while we cultured ourselves.
And even though we had celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on Broadway, the four of us went out on the actual night for dinner at Blue Bayou-- something we hadn't done since the girls were little.
