Among the most surprising conversations ever on an outing with Tim -- with whom family, eternity, love, and the meaning of work are standard topics -- was a comparison between Casino Royale and Skyfall. I preferred the former, he the latter. Casino Royale, I contended was about Bond's relationship with Vesper; Skyfall is about his relationship with M (proxy for his mom).
