Following 2017's successful visit, we invited Jen's folks to come and spend another happy week in Southern California. It was another great week, with boat rides, puzzle making, a pilgrimage to their old family pizza place in Saugus, Chi Chi's -- which was also special to Matt's family in Ventura! -- and the German restaurant in Old World, Huntington Beach. Things dipped towards weirdness only once, I think, some mumblings about conspiracy theory videos on YouTube, but I think we managed to avoid sinking into the sludge with a couple of shoulder shrugs and a subject change.
