Elf Village & Star Reporter

Nanny's House

Mom rescued an old board game that has sat on the shelves of the cabin for 60 years or so, Star Reporter. Players roll dice to drive, take a train, or fly to the scene of a news story or disaster. You even have to roll lucky numbers just to make a telephone call back to the newspaper office if you want to save making the trip. It's really a heavy dose of time travel.

As is the elf village, a simple Christmas disply of little men made from pine cones which has been set up in my folks' home since my earliest memory -- and, my mom says, in her folks' home since her earliest memories before that.
