We lucked out! After a fairly dry winter, snow began to dump
on the Cascades the day that Allen, Lang and Callista began
skiing. And it kept dumping fresh powder all through the day.
I was lucky to make it up the mountain in my rented Expedition
to join them for beers at The Snorting Elk
after their first glorious day. It kept on dumping all through
the night and the next day we all enjoyed an epic day
in the deep powder.
We wrapped up the second day again at the Snorting Elk, taking
in a brilliant 1960s era ski flick called "Ski Bums," about some
guys who break the bank at Monte Carlo to support their
Alpine habit.
