After dinner with Tom and his son Neil, I dropped off
the laptop at the hotel and walked over to Boston Public
Garden and Boston Commons for a stroll in the warm evening
air. Gradually, I become aware of the munchkins singing,
"You're off to see the wizard," somewhere over by the lit
tennis courts. Sure enough, a big screen was set up over
a sign -- "Mayor Menino's Monday Night Movies" -- and I was
in time to catch everything from "If I only had a brain" on.
I took off my shoes and socks and settled in with the
couple hundred others out there, and we watched The Wizard of Oz.
