Cinderina: The Star and The Dress

Ellie had the lead role in the spring production, but equal billing went to The Dress -- Emily's $400 formal gown, purchased at Bloomingdale's and worn to winter formal. At every dress rehearsal and performance, the cast and crew worked their way carefully around The Dress, to ensure that it survived the production intact.
As the father of the star (and the purchaser of The Dress) I was glad to see it get a second wearing, something that few fancy dresses manage.
Of course, I was even happier to see Ellie commanding the stage in her first lead role.
